The YMCA wrapped up its kaleidoscope of Welcoming Week activities in September, marking another successful year of strengthening the bonds between immigrants and U.S. citizens around the country.
Welcoming Week, which is held each September by Welcoming America, once again made a corresponding splash on social media. According to their website, in 2018, the week yielded more than 14 million social media impressions. This year, over 700 branches of the YMCA of the USA participated, representing 44 states, according to Tom Valentine, VP of the International Group.
The real world impact of the various events around the country reverberated in cities and towns of all sizes.
